Central Park
Where New yorkers and Visitors get fresh air.

Aerial View of Central Park, NYC
Central Park is one of the most visited parks in New york city. Totally man made, this whole section used to be a swamp. This park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux (by the way this was the first park they ever designed)

Central Park has 843 acres set aside for recreational use. With that said if you visit this park, You might want to get lost in the Ramble. This is a section of the park where you feel that is organic in a sense and not man made, but it was and it was meant to give you that perception. Even birds find that section of the park really appealing, because of its natural look.

When visiting central park another great thing to do is visit Strawberry fields (John Lennon memorial)  and Belvedere castle along side with turtle pond.

Twilight in Central Park
Do not worry in this park you wont go hungry or die of thirst, because there are a lot of ambulatory carts with beverages and food such as hotdogs, and you also get the Central Park Boathouse Cafe, Le Pain Quotidien at Central Park, Petrie Court Cafe & Wine Bar (Metropolitan museum)

HELLO NEW YORK

Hi everyone, My first post YES!
Welcome to my blog on New York City and Tourism.

FROM A TOURISM PERSPECTIVE

Photobucket

Oh boy! Not another blogger talking about New York City.

Well in this blog you are going to learn about the city in a whole new perspective.

Some of you are thinking about coming here and others have come here before. I am a licensed tour guide here in the "Big Apple", and in case you were wondering it is called the big apple because a bunch of jazz musicians in the late 1920s and the early 1930s referred to it as a saying. NO! It is not because there are a lot of apple trees here.

What you might refer to the city and "The City" is actually an island called Manhattan. By the way it is called Manhattan because its origin come from the American Indians translating to "the Island of many hills".

New York City is referring to five boroughs includes: Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and Manhattan  the center of the city or the heart.

Ok! Got the basics down…

Now back to me...
I used to go to school in buffalo for Hospitality Administration, since I graduated this island caught my attention, and I also have lived here since I was 8.

SO now I am back, studied for the license to be a tour guide here, and now I am training to work for CitySights, You know the double Decker buses explaining the history of it all and how we all got started, in addition important building and their history, along with some of my favorite places to shop.

Now with all I know about New York City I can help you get around as well.

Stay tuned to this blog I will be putting more interesting facts and tips.
